Updates from Dan:
601 S Ball St
-look all around this area, BOLO For Lease signs and phone numbers. If you go during business hours please chat up anybody you see back there and ask them about garage or warehouse space. Could not find this place - got kind of twisted around and gave up. I'll go back sometime next week. In the process though, I saw a lot of the area (which I hadn't driven around priorly). I'm not sure how a place couldn't succeed in this area with the METRO and road access and overall "appearance." There's actually more housing around here than I thought, which is a plus.

http://www.loopnet.com/xNet/MainSite/Listing/Profile/Profile.aspx?LID=15421877&StepID=101&RecentlyViewed=true&ItemIndex=15&PgCxtDir=Down Not an ideal location because of the setup of the place (store front - not a lot of parking). I will say that this is a good location with respect to 395 - but not sure how traffic would affect that (imagine it gets pretty crazy there during rush hour time frame) - also, as I've mentioned before, that is kind of a "dead zone" between orange and Blue and it's boxed in by 495. Also, Shirlington is a family area . . . not sure if that is a good or bad thing, but it's definitely not as "hip" as DC, or even Alexandria or Virginia Square.
3431 Carling Springs Rd Falls Church VA
http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/off/594018700.html Golds Gym in same complex - not necessarily a bad thing. Also an REI. It looked like the "garage" portion of this (can't remember the add exactly) was elevated - more of a loading dock. Looks like an almost new facility though. Parking wouldn't be an issue - easy to find (right off of Carlin Springs) - tons of stuff in this area (very near 7 corners).

There are either 10 different Auto body places in this area / road, or it is all one place . . . regardless, it's definitely "industrial" - and if we were nestled in amongst all these autobody places it might be difficult to carve out (and have it respected) our parking. Not sure why they're leasing just one space . . . they all appear the same - and the one they were offering seemed to be in the middle, but I could be mistaken about this. Also, not sure women would feel the safest coming to this place at night or early in the morning just because of the way it looks (I know that probably sounds weird - but I think you'll know what I mean when you see it). This place and the place above are right across the intersection - so they're the same as far as "reachability."

Didn't swing by this on the way home - it's right by my house though - I'll swing by on the way home today and provide an update.
